ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrival at Catania airport and welcome by our driver. Private transfer to Taormina and check in at your first class (4-star) hotel. Welcome dinner with your tour leader. (D)

Day 2 

Today, at leisure to explore Taormina "dolce vita" life-style by strolling around its charming downtown, by enjoying its beautiful beaches, everywhere surrounded by the scenic view of the Ionic Sea and Etna Volcano. You might choose an half-day optional tour with a private guide for an in-dept visit of the striking Greek-Roman Amphitheatre, or a private tour to visit Mt. Etna and wine tasting at wine estate on the slope of the Volcano. Dinner on your own. (BB).

Day 3 

This morning, we enjoy a visit of Siracusa, which during the Greek Age was one of the more powerful cities on the island. Visit to the archaeological zone: the Greek Theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Ear of Dyonisus and the Latomie. Walk through the historical center on the Ortigia Island to admire the Cathedral, the Aretusa fountain and the ancient streets. Time at leisure for shopping and lunch on your own in Siracusa.
In the afternoon, a visit of Noto a splendid baroque city, then Modica , the ancient capital of Contea, a city full of fascinating architectural, artistic and scenic attractions, unique among those pertaining to the splendid Sicilian Baroque period. Check in at the hotel in Modica and dinner. ( BB, D).

Day 4 

Today, visit 2 of the most important attraction in Sicily, also enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage. In the morning Villa Romana del Casale, a unique well preserved Ancient Roman Villa famous for its vast floor mosaics. In the afternoon, Valley of the Temples, one of the most representative sites of Greek Civilization in the Mediterranean area. Visit to the Temple of Hercules, the Temple of Juno, the Temple of Castor and Pollux and the wonderful Temple of Concord. Transfer to Sciacca . Check in at the hotel and dinner. (BB, D)

Day 5 

Depart to Selinunte and visit the archaeological area, the largest in Europe. Selinunte was one of the most important town of Western Sicily , in constant struggle against Segesta for power.
Continue on to Marsala, a town on the Western coast famous for its wine production.
Visit to Salt marshes , then transfer to a farm house for an : Oil Tasting along with a visit to an Olive Oil Frantoio followed by a lunch.
In the afternoon transfer to Erice, a nearby medieval town, located at the top of the homonymous mountain set 751 meters above the sea level and overlooking the whole Western region, the Mediterranean Sea and the Egadi Islands. Walking tour of its characteristic historical centre. In the evening , check in at our hotel in Palermo. (BB ,L)

Day 6

After breakfast depart to Polizzi, a small village 70 kilometres away from Palermo, surrounded by cheerful countryside and green pastures. Polizzi lies in the Madonie Mountains' Natural Park. This internal region between the Northern Coast and Central Sicily has a wealth of ancient small villages, where many people still live according to the Sicilian traditions.
Visit to Polizzi Generosa, the ancient village rich in historical and artistic attractions. During the walk through the town's medieval streets, will be possible to savor typical sweetmeats, then cooking class with a local family to learn the making of traditional dishes, followed by a special lunch
In the afternoon visit Cefalý , famous for its rich historical centre (the Norman Cathedral and the medieval quarter) as well as for its beautiful beach and blue sea.
Enjoy a guided walking visit and some free time on your own to do shopping .
Return to your hotel in Palermo. (BB, L)

Day 7

In the morning, Walking tour of Palermo Visit to this ancient town that has been a crossroads for civilization in the Mediterranean for ages and ages. Here, visit and seek out signs of its ancient "grandeur": the Norman Palace and the Palatine Chapel, the church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, the Cathedral, Quattro Canti square, etc. Walk through the streets of the historical center, and visit to the town's popular Vucciria market.
In the afternoon, optional excursion to the nearby Mondello or Monreale, famous for its wonderful Norman Cathedral and the adjoining cloister, architectural masterpieces of King Roger II.
Farewell dinner at a Local and elegant restaurant where guests will enjoy superb and refined dishes based on typical recipes from local culinary traditions. Return to the hotel for your last overnight stay in Palermo. (BB, D)

Day 8 

Breakfast in hotel and transfer to the airport in Palermo, assistance with check-in and departure.
